Google Earth on the Nexus 10

December 14, 2012

Google Earth has long had a solid app on mobile devices. From the iPhone release in 2008 to the first Android release in 2010 to the awesome Google Earth 7 that was released earlier this year, it’s been an amazing ride for Google Earth on mobile.
The Android App was updated a few days ago with some bug fixes, and I recently picked up a Nexus 10 to replace my aging Xoom — the combination of them is amazing! With a speedy processor and an amazing resolution of 2560 x 1600, Google Earth has literally never looked better on a mobile device.
Here are a few screenshots I took yesterday. They’ve been resized to fit the blog, but click any of them to full them in full resolution.

The quality of the imagery on mobile devices as always been great, but on this device it is nothing short of amazing!
You can try it for yourself by downloading Google Earth for Android or for iOS.

Right now working on getting all the Google Earth Tours of the passes of the Alps from http://www.cyclingthealps.com to an Android App.
Testing it on a Nexus 10 and I must say this is going to be fantastic!
Will let you know when it is available!

I’m also loving Google Earth on the N10. Almost as sweet as the desktop experience, and maybe even a little better with the extreme resolution on the N10 display.
