A few days ago, the official +Google Earth page shared a neat tip to be able to see the sun’s shadows on the earth from “days gone by”:
click View > Sun. Tilt your view so the horizon is in focus, and then adjust the time of day by using the slider in the upper left. Watch the sun and the stars move across the sky.
The result looks amazing!
It’s not a new technique, but it’s so much more beautiful in Google Earth 7.1 The image reminds me of some of the stunning screen captures that Dimitris Manias shared with us back when Google Earth 7.1 was first released.
It’s amazing how far Google Earth has come since it was first released back in 2005, and it just keeps getting better!

I downloaded Googe Earth today and it brought along malware called MIXI-DJ which hi-jacked my internet browser and redirected it. Took several hours to undo. Beware!
Bill — Be careful where you download it from, as there are a lot of shady sites out there. Always get it right from the source at http://earth.google.com/
We got crap from downloading Google Earth. We didn’t used to but then again Google has sided with the government who is spying on conservatives.
The government has spied on my parents computers because that’s where Dad used to have his books until he switched to another computer which the one being spied on is the family computer.
Once in a while if you do anything on Google at night or Youtube at night the computer always has trouble starting the next day but if you do any of that in the daytime nothing unusual happens so obviously the spying happens at night or late evenings around 8pm or so.
Daytime you can watch youtube all you want on that computer and nothing adverse happens.
Actually it happens all the time at night. Once in a while in the daytime you’ll get weird stuff but mostly it’s at night.
