The Science Behind Fall Color in Google Earth

October 14, 2013

With the coming autumn comes the changing of the leaves, which can be stunningly beautiful in many places.

ExploreAshville.com has created a page that explores The Science Behind Fall Color and makes great use of Google Earth to do it.

While the main fly-through was created largely using Google Earth, they also did a lot of post-processing on it so you’re unable to view it directly in Google Earth.  However, the Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau created a YouTube video that shows the imagery and is quite awesome:

Their site does a great job of discussing much more about how and why the leaves change colors, and I highly recommend you check it out at www.exploreasheville.com/science-behind-fall-color/

A big thanks to GEB reader ‘Cat’ for letting us know about it!
