NORAD Tracks Santa goes live for 2012

As they’ve done for the past few years, the incredibly popular NORAD Santa site is now live for 2012. Each year the site tracks Santa’s journey around the world on Christmas Eve, and the site is now live in preparation for the holiday.

NORAD Santa

As always, the tracker itself won’t be live until December 24. However, they have a variety of new games on the site each day in the “Countdown Village” that are fun to play with your kids; for example, the game today is the “cookie shack”, which is a cute little puzzle.
NORAD (and its predecessor, CONAD) have been tracking Santa every year since 1955. The addition of tools such as Google Earth and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook have only served to help increase the spread the of this fun tradition. To keep up with the latest happenings from the North Pole, you can join their Facebook Page (with over a million fans!) or follow them on twitter at @NoradSanta. You can also keep with with Santa via their mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

My girls will certainly be following along this year, as we have a great time watching him every year. How about you? Did you follow along last year with your kids? Looking forward to doing it again?

Comments

  1. I like it better when Santa is accompanied by F-15’s, F-22’s, F-16’s, F-18’s and his traffic pattern is cleared by orbiting AWACS and E-2C’s, and scheduled refueling over the Atlantic and Pacific by KC-10’s, and A-6’s.

  2. I wonder whether Santa owns an ipad

  3. In the part of the world i grew up we never had santa all we knew was father christmas. thax!
