New StreetView imagery – April 15

Google appears to have just released another batch of fresh StreetView imagery. So far it doesn’t seem to be a huge update, but includes a good bit of imagery from the StreetView trike.

Comments

  1. The Mexico coverage has been significantly expanded. As recently a week or two ago, none of the southwest US/Mexico border towns were done and now they all are, and thoroughly. Tijuana, Tecate, Mexicali, San Luis Rio, Nogales and Juarez all have good quality images.
Some of the images from the interior of Mexico outside of the cities are just gorgeous.
I really like the implementation of SteetView in GE. It’s got a different interface from the browser version and the segue from GE to StreeView is especially cool.

  2. GoogleEarthFan500 says

Does anyone know if the 3D feature in Streetview is going to come back? That was kind of cool.

  3. They have Guanajuato mexico, but unfortunately, the roads are too complicated for poor google. Theres a large amount of underground roads, which messes with their navigational arrow system.

  4. Looks like they’re beginning to roll out StreetView imagery for the Hawaiian Islands, taken a few months ago. Oahu and half of Maui seem to be released…
