SketchUp Training DVD Available

April 6, 2007

SketchUp School DVDGoogle SketchUp is the most intuitive 3D modeling tool I’ve ever used. And, its the best way to create 3D models for Google Earth – especially since the modeling tool is available for free. But, as with any powerful applications, there are many tricks which can speed up the process of making your creations. And, there are more sophisticated features buried behind the intuitive interface. A couple of months ago, I wrote about the guys at go-2-school.com who put on regular high-quality video podcast tutorials showing off the best features of SketchUp. They continue to regularly turn out more interesting stuff, and if you are into SketchUp, I recommend you check them regularly. Here is an example video podcast showing how to create a sphere (Quicktime video) in SketchUp.
In addition, School has produced a DVD of their high-quality video tutorials called “SketchUp Level One“. They sent me a copy, and I have to say I am very impressed. I like the format, the quality of the video, and the way they keep their explanations non-technical (without annoying you if you are technical). There are 26 chapters of content on this one DVD, so there is plenty of material to turn you from a beginner into a competent 3D modeler with SketchUp. Click here for a full description of the DVD. The DVD is available for only $79. A bargain for quality training like this. You will also see they are working on a level 2 DVD as well.
