Explore over 10,000 mines with Mining Atlas

Thanks to Google Earth’s 3D terrain and high-resolution imagery, massive items like mountains and volcanoes have always looked amazing. Given their impressive size, major mines around the world can look equally impressive.

Mining Atlas is an impressive platform that enables you to explore over 10,000 mines across the globe and then take a tour of that mine once you are there. Their integration with the Google Earth plug-in is quite impressive, and makes for a very interactive site. While using the site you can select items on the left side of the screen, and see the results in Google Earth on the right.

All in all, it’s an excellent use of the Google Earth plug-in. I encourage you to go check it out for yourself at Mining-Atlas.com.
