New Google Earth Imagery - October 19

As pointed out by GEB readers 'Jorge' and @NoelBallantyne, Google has just pushed out some fresh new imagery!

lima.jpg

As is usually the case, you can use Google Maps to determine for sure whether or not a specific area is fresh. This new imagery isn't in Google Maps yet, so you can compare Earth vs. Maps to see what's new; the fresh imagery is already in Google Earth, but the old imagery is still in Google Maps. If you compare the two side-by-side and they're not identical, that means that you've found a freshly updated area in Google Earth!

[UPDATED -- 19-October, 1:28pm EST]

  • Ireland: Various areas -- thanks 'Noel'
  • Peru: West part of Lima and Callao -- thanks 'Jorge'
  • Russia: Near Kimry -- thanks 'AlexeiD'
  • Thailand: Various areas -- thanks 'Andy'
  • United States: Medford, OR -- thanks 'Steven'
  • Uruguay: -- thanks 'Enrique'

If you find any other updated areas, please leave a comment and let us know!

Ireland? Where? Large parts of the Republic, together with significant parts of Scotland, are still covered only by the most basic low res imagery, as they have been since GE launched.

As Street View is very comprehensive in both, it's time for GE imagery to match.

What's wrong with the SASGIS.RU .kml files? Every time I open one, it doesn't do anything.

Lican ray, a little town in the calafquén lake in Chile.
but im worried because a city near this place, in the city I live in, called Temuco (one of the five largest cities in Chile) still has an image from 2003, but smaller cities and less important than Temuco they have newer imagery even of second half of 2010, I dont know why, I have checked the digital globe web site and spot image web site and they have newer imagery for Temuco since 2007 to 2010.

greetings

Mexico City is current as well as around the State of Mexico, but not so recent, being images of December 2009

The images for much of the Kona area of Hawaii are 1st generation, dating from 2003. This is unfortunate in a fast-growing area like Kona. Some areas of the Big Island date to 2007. When can we expect an update?
Aloha.
