Is that a body in Street View?

For those people concerned about privacy in Google Street View, this almost takes it to a new level. A story has been going around that Google accidentally captured images of the body of young girl in the street outside her home. Frankly, the images are quite convincing:

Fortunately, the girl is perfectly fine and was just playing around. Her name is Azura Beebeejaun, and she's simply amused by all of the attention! She said she was just playing with friends when the car went by.

It's possible that Google will remove the image, but in the meantime you can view it in Google Maps here or in Google Earth with this KML file.

What's the strangest thing you've seen in Street View?

Usually your friends are around when you play with them. Apparently her friends are the make-believe kind...

If the image is genuine why are the girl's face and the car registration plate not blurred?

Chris -- The top image is the one from Street View that everyone is talking about. The bottom one was taken by news reporters interviewing the girl, hence the lack of blurring.

here they are, two kids playing. taken from the junction

but this one looks like was taken while the car was driving from the other road (Great House Rd.). because if you keep going in the Middle Road (where the kid is lying), past the junction of Middle Road and Great House Road, the girl is in the previous position, laying on the ground.

Mickey - my tongue in cheek effort to parody conspiracy theory may be missed the mark .... but .... hoe do we know the body in top image is the girl in the lower one, or have 'they' really covered something up?

Chris -- In retrospect, that was pretty obvious. It's just been a long day.

I saw a view of a little blonde girl sitting on the front stoop of the house across the street from the girl laying on the ground, the same girl that was in the other Google street map view where the two girls are sitting on the ground together.

GOOD OBSERVATION :)

Thanks for the info. This is nice for teachers to illustrate items to their students for educational purposes.
