Giant Building Found in Google Earth
[UPDATE May 17: Google did a layers update yesterday and removed the bad building.]
Found an E-mail from Jorge González this morning who told me he had found a 72 km tall building in Google Earth near Bratislava, Slovakia. Apparently someone has secretly built a space elevator in Slovakia - either that, or something wrong happened when a 3D model was put into Google's database. You only see this data error if you turn on the "3D Buildings" layer. Then, follow this link
, or do a search for "Bratislava".
I'm sure Google will have this corrected soon. Possibly when the next layer update occurs. There are already several 3D buildings built in Bratislava, it was my first time to visit the area. Jorge also has a spanish blog where he writes about things he finds in Google Earth - check out Turismo Google.

Haha, awesome. I couldn't get the thermospheric description in view before GE culled it out (it's located 102762.7545881012 meters above the ground to be exact), but by sniffing my own network traffic I found it's "nieco BIG" by Kiwi, described as "BIG BIG BIG":

I think I'll make a copy to share with others when it's gone; at least I presume it won't stay there indefinitely.

btw "nieco BIG" in slovak means "something BIG", which I guess is a good description for this monstrosity :)

There are two other 3D buildings in Bratislava on GE, on the place of new National Theater, which in reality no exist.
