Catchup on some miscellaneous things of note regarding Google Earth:

  • Sketchup Tutorial – a brief tutorial on creating models for Google Earth using SketchUp from Sunny Boy Blog.
  • World Wide Panorama V3 – Release 3 of the WWP project. Post at GEC.
  • Google Earth Used in 24 – Popular TV thriller show 24 shows GE being used in an episode during season 5. Of course, a terrorist is using it. Also, a link here to a page where someone used GE while watching 24 to identify scenes in the show.
  • Panama Canal 3D model (633 KBytes) – Model by ‘jpwade’ has been updated several times now to add ships and other buildings around a panama canal control gate. (Make sure “Terrain” layer is turned on)
  • Gallery of GE Stereoscopic 3D – just screenshots, require red/blue 3D glasses.
  • GELessons.com – This website is a collection of links to tools and tips for Teachers wanting to use Google Earth in the classroom. It points to other Teacher resources like JuicyGeography which I’ve written about before.
