Jamaica Me Krazy in Google Earth
Winter is starting to arrive in the northern hemisphere, so it's time to start thinking about the tropics! A couple of months ago, one of the more creative regulars at the Google Earth Community by the pseudonym of Tommy Afrika (or is that his real name?) posted an interesting collection of placemarks for Jamaica 
. His placemarks are pretty entertaining. He used some interesting graphics for the icons, included altitude posts for some of them so they stick out, and they also have informative descriptions with photos. He obviously was in a fun mood when he created these. Tommy called his post at the forums "Jamaica Me Krazy", and you can see why.
So, as winter starts making you feel cold, seek some warmer climates in Google Earth!

The resolution of the Google Earth pictures are not improved by buying Google Earth Plus/Pro. If your ranch is not viewable in Google Earth now you can either wait for Google to update your area, or look for other aerial or satellite photos and create an image overlay placemark with the new image (with the free version of GE).

Hello anyone,
I'm new to GE, and have a few questions. Why do I encounter green blocks as I try to zoom in closer? Is this a totally free thing , or is there a subsription fee to fully utilize the service?

In some areas the resolution is lower so you will see various colored blocks instead of detail. Most of the earth is at 15 meter resolution or better. However, there are a few places (mostly islands) where the resolution is as bad as 1 km.
However, please realize Google is doing us all a favor as the data that is available costs millions of US dollars to provide to a global audience.
